Biografía. / Biography.

Adrián Magro de la Torre (Madrid, 1990) estudia Comunicación Audiovisual, Guión de Cine y Televisión y Profesorado de Imagen y Sonido en Madrid, donde reside actualmente. Es autor y director de los micros "Maribén" y "Los demonios" (El Escondite), de "Puntos suspensivos", y autor de "Cita a ciegas", dirigido por Marta Valverde, y "Terapia de choque", por Maty Gómez (Microteatro por Dinero). También es guionista del cortometraje "Pues eso" y "Mierda (o la mejor escritora del mundo)" para el Notodofilmfest (2018 y 2021), disponibles en Youtube. Y autor de la novela de género negro, "Humo", publicada a través de Amazon en 2020, finalista del "III Premio Negra y Mortal a la Mejor Novela Negra".

He is the author and director of the short plays "Maribén" and "Los demonios" (El Escondite), as well as "Puntos suspensivos". He also wrote "Cita a ciegas", directed by Marta Valverde, and "Terapia de choque", directed by Maty Gómez (Microteatro por Dinero). Additionally, he wrote the screenplays for the short films "Pues eso" and "Mierda (o la mejor escritora del mundo)" for the Notodofilmfest (2018 and 2021), both available on YouTube. He is also the author of the noir novel "Humo", published on Amazon in 2020 and a finalist for the "III Negra y Mortal Award for Best Noir Novel".

Escritura. / Style.

«Mi “dramaturgia” se basa esencialmente en entretener, ni hablo ni actúo ni escribo nunca persiguiendo otra cosa que no sea ese mágico y maravilloso efecto, siempre, en todo aquello que desarrollo y me empeño en contar ando tras la búsqueda insaciable de la comicidad del espectador/a y, con suerte, su risa-sonrisa-carcajada cómplices. Además, todas mis obras tienen un gran poso autobiográfico, aunque estén enteramente pensadas y pasadas por el tamiz propio de la ficción (absurda, exagerada, surrealista; ése es mi estilo), beben (in)directamente de mi experiencia o de la de aquellos que me rodean y con los que convivo y me relaciono a diario. Ya sean libros o personas. Los temas que más trato son el sexo (como curiosidad, excusa y aprendizaje, ancla y telón de fondo) y las relaciones de pareja entre hombres y mujeres, sin concisiones, medias tintas o florituras. Por ello, si alguien se siente un poquito reconocido/a, de antemano, le pido perdón, pero sólo de puntillas, porque, créanme, lo he hecho muy a propósito. Ojalá se diviertan y disfruten mucho a mi costa. Con sumo gusto y absolutamente ningún rencor.» (Adrián Magro de la Torre).

«My “dramaturgy” is essentially based on entertaining—I neither speak, act, nor write with any other purpose than achieving that magical and wonderful effect. In everything I develop and strive to tell, I am always in relentless pursuit of the audience’s laughter—be it a chuckle, a smile, or a full-blown guffaw. Moreover, all my works have a strong autobiographical imprint. Though they are entirely conceived and filtered through the lens of fiction (absurd, exaggerated, surreal—that’s my style), they drink (in)directly from my own experiences or those of the people around me, with whom I live and interact daily. Whether books or people. The themes I most frequently explore are sex (as curiosity, excuse, and learning, as an anchor and backdrop) and romantic relationships between men and women, without concessions, half-measures, or embellishments. So, if anyone happens to recognize themselves even slightly, I offer my apologies in advance—but only just a little—because, believe me, I did it very much on purpose.
