Biografía. / Biography.

Rachel Toogood es una traductora y productora autónoma. Ha traducido dos obras de teatro de Laura Rubio Galletero: «Centro Comercial Paraíso» («Shopping Centre Paradise»), que se estrenó en el festival Out of the Wings, en el Omnibus Theatre de Londres, en 2021, y «El Techo de Cristal: Anne & Sylvia» («The Glass Ceiling: Anne & Sylvia»), publicada por Estreno Contemporary Spanish Plays y leída por Out of the Wings en 2017. Rachel ha traducido «La distancia» de La Société de la Mouffette. Actualmente, trabaja en una versión cubana de la obra «Bacantes», de Raquel Carrió y Flora Lauten, y en la obra «El Preludio de Ana», de la dramaturga uruguaya Sandra Massera. Sus otros proyectos de traducción incluyen la letra de Omara Portuondo para su último álbum, traducir a Marta Minujín para el Manchester International Festival, textos para el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (en Santiago de Chile), el Latin American Bureau y la Universidad de Birmingham. Es co-traductora del libro «Rongo, The Unknown Story of Easter Island», de Patricia Štambuk, editado por Pehuén. Como productora, Rachel ha trabajado para varias organizaciones conocidas (era la Productora Internacional para el Royal Court Theatre, y ha trabajado para el Southbank Centre, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, el British Council, así como para varios proyectos independientes de teatro y literatura). 

Rachel Toogood is a freelance translator and producer. She has translated two plays by Laura Rubio Galletero: Centro Comercial Paraíso (Shopping Centre Paradise), which premiered at the Out of the Wings Festival at the Omnibus Theatre in London in 2021, and El Techo de Cristal: Anne & Sylvia (The Glass Ceiling: Anne & Sylvia), published by Estreno Contemporary Spanish Plays and read at Out of the Wings in 2017. Rachel has also translated La distancia by La Société de la Mouffette. She is currently working on a Cuban version of Bacantes by Raquel Carrió and Flora Lauten, and on El Preludio de Ana by Uruguayan playwright Sandra Massera. Her other translation projects include the lyrics of Omara Portuondo for her latest album, translating Marta Minujín for the Manchester International Festival, texts for the National Museum of Fine Arts (Santiago de Chile), the Latin American Bureau, and the University of Birmingham. She is co-translator of the book Rongo, The Unknown Story of Easter Island by Patricia Štambuk, published by Pehuén. As a producer, Rachel has worked for several prominent organizations, including serving as International Producer for the Royal Court Theatre, and collaborating with the Southbank Centre, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the British Council, as well as various independent theatre and literary projects.
