Sinopsis. / Synopsis.
El título ya dice todo. En cada casa sus paredes nos darán visibilidad de las vivencias de sus mujeres. La obra partirá de la primera mitad del siglo XX hasta llegar a nuestros días: en ese recorrido veremos que variantes y que similitudes hay en el tratamiento y en la respuesta hacia, y de las mujeres.
The title says it all. In every home, its walls will give us insight into the lives of its women. The play will begin in the first half of the 20th century and journey to the present day. Along the way, we will observe the variations and similarities in how women are treated and how they respond.

Esta obra no pretende ser reivindicativa porque esa palabra debe de ponerse en tela de juicio cuando, a lo largo de los últimos sesenta años, sigue estando en auge. Esta representación de actos cotidianos y continuados en el tiempo, nos muestra, desde la distancia que nos ofrece el teatro, el vivir o mal vivir, en el día a día que, a lo largo de más años de los que nuestra memoria quisiera recordar, mujeres de cualquier clase social, condición o credo, han sufrido y siguen sufriendo en carne propia. La dureza de los hechos se verá maquillada por la representación, siempre matizada por el arte de la interpretación de las y los distintos actores. No podría ser de otro modo, estamos haciendo uso del arte escénico. Os deseo buena noche de teatro, sea cual sea la butaca que ocupéis, bajo la lámpara en tu sillón preferido o desde la butaca del teatro elegido.
This play does not aim to be a call to action, as that term must be scrutinized when, over the past sixty years, it remains ever-present. This portrayal of everyday and ongoing acts through time offers us, from the distance that theater provides, a glimpse into the lives—or struggles to live—of women from any social class, background, or belief system. For far longer than our memory would like to admit, these women have endured and continue to endure such realities firsthand. The harshness of these events will be softened by the portrayal, always nuanced by the artistry of the actors' performances. It could not be otherwise; we are, after all, making use of the performing arts. I wish you a wonderful night of theater, wherever your seat may be—under the lamp in your favorite armchair or from the chosen theater’s seat.

Biografía. / Biography.
La trayectoria literaria de Pepa Gómez Bustamante ha sido en el campo de la investigación y, más tarde, dentro de la novela social e histórica, haciendo de su obra una ventana hacia el tiempo pasado y por la que puedes dialogar con personajes de distintas capas sociales y culturales. Precisamente, estos trabajos en campos distintos a la dramaturgia han hecho que sean el punto de partida o el trampolín para poder escribir sobre su única obra teatral: "Si las paredes hablaran", donde mezcla lo aprendido en cada una de sus obras sociales e históricas. A título personal, Pepa Gómez ha sido empresaria a lo largo de cuarenta años, y en ese tiempo ha ostentado la presidencia de distintas asociaciones: Asociación de Empresarios, Asociación progresista de Mujeres, Ateneo de Azuaga, Stela literaria edición... y distintas agrupaciones a las que pertenece, como la Asociación de Escritoras y Escritores de Extremadura o la Asociación de escritores entre Pueblos.
Pepa Gómez Bustamante's literary career began in the field of research and later transitioned into social and historical novels, turning her work into a window to the past that allows readers to engage with characters from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. These explorations outside the realm of playwriting served as a springboard for her only theatrical work, "Si las paredes hablaran" ("If Walls Could Talk"), which combines the insights gained from her social and historical works. On a personal level, Pepa Gómez has been a businesswoman for over forty years, holding the presidency of various associations during this time, including the Association of Entrepreneurs, the Progressive Association of Women, Ateneo de Azuaga, and Stela Literaria Edición. She is also a member of several groups, such as the Association of Writers of Extremadura and the Association of Writers Between Peoples.
Escritura. / Style.
«En esta primera obra escrita, he querido dejar patente, pero sin dramatismo, la situación de la mujer a lo largo de la primera mitad del siglo XX y desde allí arribar a nuestros días con situaciones parejas pero con respuestas distintas. Evidentemente todo lo que escribimos es el resultado de vivencias e investigaciones, en este caso el trabajo de campo es fundamental y en el me muevo como pez en el agua.» (Pepa Gómez Bustamante).
«In this first written play, I aimed to highlight, without excessive dramatization, the situation of women throughout the first half of the 20th century and, from there, to reach the present day, where similar situations persist but with different responses. Evidently, everything we write stems from personal experiences and research; in this case, fieldwork is fundamental, and I navigate it like a fish in water.» (Pepa Gómez Bustamante).
