Biografía. / Biography.

Alma Vidal es una directora y dramaturga madrileña. Es egresada de Dirección Escénica y Dramaturgia en la Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático, ha cursado el Máster en Teatro y Artes Escénicas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y el Máster en Guion de The Mediapro Studio. También ha estudiado en escuelas como Arte 4, Estudio Corazza o Cristina Rota y a nivel internacional en RADA, UAL: Saint Martins en Londres, L'Université d'Avignon o la LMTA en Lituania. Entre los proyectos estrenados con Cyclos producciones, que gerenta ella misma, destacan: El dios de la juventud, protagonizada por Marta Poveda y texto propio publicado con Ediciones Antígona (2025, Teatro Pavón), La Casa - Intrahistoria de una mudanza, texto propio, (2023, Teatro Quique San Francisco y gira por España). Entre otros de sus proyectos se encuentran: Estas Manos que son mías, de Camila Bordón (2021, La Sala), Ligazón, de Valle Inlcán, (2019, Umbral de primavera), Zorras de patio, texto propio, (2019, Umbral de primavera)… Ha sido ayudante de dirección para Yayo Cáceres, Julieta Soria o Loreta Vaskova en teatros como Teatro de la Abadía o Corral de Alcalá , y ha formado parte del equipo de producción de Ron Lalá en las producciones de Juan Rana y Villa y Marte. Imparte también talleres de Creación Escénica, Interpretación y Dramaturgia en Campus fp, así como talleres internacionales.

Alma Vidal is a director and playwright from Madrid; she holds a degree in Dirección Escénica y Dramaturgia from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático, has completed the Master’s in Theatre and Performing Arts at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Screenwriting Master’s at The Mediapro Studio, and has also trained at schools such as Arte 4, Estudio Corazza and Cristina Rota, as well as internationally at RADA, UAL: Saint Martins in London, L’Université d’Avignon and LMTA in Lithuania; among the projects premiered with Cyclos Producciones, which she manages herself, are El dios de la juventud, starring Marta Poveda and her own text published by Ediciones Antígona (2025, Teatro Pavón), and La Casa – Intrahistoria de una mudanza, also her own text (2023, Teatro Quique San Francisco, followed by a tour across Spain); other works include Estas Manos que son mías by Camila Bordón (2021, La Sala), Ligazón by Valle-Inclán (2019, Umbral de Primavera), and Zorras de patio, her own text (2019, Umbral de Primavera); she has been assistant director to Yayo Cáceres, Julieta Soria and Loreta Vaskova in theatres such as Teatro de la Abadía and Corral de Alcalá, and has been part of the production team of Ron Lalá in the productions Juan Rana and Villa y Marte; she also teaches workshops in Scenic Creation, Acting and Playwriting at Campus FP, as well as international workshops.

Escritura. / Style.

«Ante la angustia y la alegría de estar vivo, el arte nos permite tomar conciencia de las pequeñas partes que nos conforman a todos los seres humanos. Es en esto entorno a lo que gira mi escritura: lo humano. Lo humano en lo político, lo humano en lo relacional y lo humano en lo poético. La comedia, la comedia de verdad, esa que es necesariamente triste, no trata de reírse de la gente, mucho menos de las personas, sino de asomarse con ternura a sus imperfecciones, aquellas que también nos hacen quienes somos, en el espacio interminable que ofrece un escenario para hablar de lo que nos atañe. En los tiempos que vivimos, tan banales y corrosivos a la vez, más que nunca debemos ocuparnos de lo que nos atañe, implicarnos con el mundo en el que nos ha tocado vivir, con el miedo, con la injusticia, con la guerra, con todas las guerras, especialmente la que vivimos dentro cada uno de nosotros. Como creadora, aspiro a que el teatro sirva para la autoconsciencia, para la crítica y la reconstrucción. Como espectadora solo quiero que sirva para emocionarnos y preguntarnos por qué.» (Alma Vidal).

«Faced with the anguish and the joy of being alive, art allows us to become aware of the small parts that make up all human beings; this is the core around which my writing revolves: the human—what is human in the political, what is human in the relational, and what is human in the poetic; true comedy, the real kind, which is necessarily tinged with sadness, is not about laughing at people, much less at individuals, but about looking tenderly at their imperfections, those that also make us who we are, within the endless space that a stage offers to speak about what concerns us; in the times we live in, so trivial and corrosive at once, more than ever we must tend to what concerns us, engage with the world we’ve been given, with fear, with injustice, with war, with all wars, especially the one we each carry within; as a creator, I aspire for theatre to serve self-awareness, critique and reconstruction, and as a spectator I only want it to move us and make us wonder why.» (Alma Vidal).
